Bizmut staff enjoy a new countryside retreat to work and play in together.
As we emerge from the global challenges of coronavirus, BizMut has been thinking about different ways of working in the new business landscape created by the upheavals of the pandemic – looking forward to the “next normal”. After challenging times for everyone, a major part of this has been listening to the needs and thoughts of colleagues, and considering how the team can collaborate differently in a post-pandemic world.
At our annual company kickoff at the beginning of 2021, we launched a competition in which everyone from our group of agencies, Finc3, was invited to submit an idea for what the “next normal” might look like, promising to invest 25,000 Euros into the winning concept. After creating a shortlist of submissions, the winning idea was voted for: to hire a remote work location in the countryside to provide a different setting for colleagues to live and work.
The company has rented out an amazing house in the village of Nitrianska Blatnica in the Slovakian wine region, about an hour’s drive from Bratislava. There’s a pool and a grill area, and it’s the perfect space for colleagues to relax and get away from the city, where many have been confined for months.

“We had really great time with my family in Nitrianska Blatnica. I felt like a millionaire for 2 weekends :-)” – Juraj Mytny: Senior Marketing Consultant

The house functions as an idyllic remote office where staff can focus on important projects and work in peace and tranquillity, but it is also a place for social occasions and families are invited to join in the fun at the weekends. The house has been rented for the entire summer, and it’s a great chance to see how changing the working environment can bring benefits and potentially inspire the team.

“Living in the city with a toddler, we really appreciated the fact that he could run freely in the cottage’s large garden without us having to follow his every step. That allowed us to chill in the pool or flip insane amounts of meat on the grill. Can’t wait for it to be available again so we go there for a few more days.” – Vlatko Barisic Senior Online Marketing Manager
The house is also a fantastic location for internal workshops and meetings; a safe environment far from the crowded city for brainstorming and generating exciting new ideas to take the company forward. It’s a way of getting a new perspective and relaxing – all things that can get the creative juices flowing.

BizMut and Finc3’s concept of the “next normal” is all about listening to staff and working with and adapting to their needs. Flexibility and the ability to pull together as a team, even during tough times, has never been more important, and BizMut hopes this summer’s adventure in Nitrianska Blatnica is just the start of the company’s creative collaborative journey. We can’t wait to see what the team will ask for next year. Roll on 2022!
